What was the strangest PC problem you had?

I remember a few different ones but my i remember my keyboard that used to die every now and then, trust me i tried everything but i discovered that if i stripped the board out and put it back it would be fine...only later did i notice the socket (AT Board not ATX) for the Keyboard was lose. I got a USB one that works fine with that pc, only if i have to reinstall XP i need to use the old keyboard and play around for half an hour so it'll work.

Mine was when I was a IT intern at my High School about three years ago. I went down to the secretaries office to check out a report of a squeeky keyboard. I thought, hum that's one you don't hear everyday. Anyways, I went down to investigate and found that sure enough when you hit the keyboard on the right side it made a funny squeek noise. Well, that is odd!! Checked the drivers and all that jaz, even the connector to the mobo and so on. Really had my puzzler puzzled. :) So, finally I picked up the keyboard and out ran a mouse!! :D Sure enough, some crumbs left from the secretaries snack had made it's way under the keyboard. During the night I would suspect the mouse crawled under the keyboard to try to get the food when it got stuck and couldn't get out. Therefore, everytime you punched a key on the side of the keyboard the mouse was stuck under he made a little squeek!! The secretary kinda freaked out on me, and I don't think she eats at her desk anymore. However, I found it to be really funny and haven't found another story that beats it yet! Honestly, this really happened!!

I use to work on Internet Jukeboxes, and the Touch Tunes floor model had a tower in it. After about 6 months we started having major problems with the touch screens going out, the audio would cut in and out and for the life of us couldnt figure out why. :) We called the manuf. to see if they had a fix and said they never hear of it. come to find out when they made the towers the motheroboad sat of centered and the cards would slide in and out of the slots due to the bass. we finally figured that if you put 1/8" spacers just on the top of the motherboard between it and the case it would flex the boad enough to keep the cards in place, talk about a pain, having all the customers calling all the time witht the same problems. mad us look bad for a while.

When my sister connects any device onto her computer frontal USB plug the system freezes. Device manager shows 6 VIA Rev5 host controllers and six usb hubs, and everything seens to be allright. I checked the drivers and the connection of the extension cable on the MOBO but still nothing. I think its a prob with the MOBO.

I was going to look for this topic and post this..ohh yea thanks vrosa X64
Last night my mothers computer was off ( she never turns off unless shes going to be going a while) so she hits the power button and nothing.
Calls me and I do the same get nothing, I un plugged the power, then plugged it in and It powers on then off.. My first thoughts are F**** its the power sluppy so I disconnected the others and open the case and see the fan off the processer and unplugged from the MOBO. I set the fan and plugged the power in and it works Thankfully cause I did not have a power sluppy they come in today.
I still want to know how that fell off and unplugged
