images/news/apple.jpgTwo days after Apple founder and former CEO Steve Jobs died at the age of 56, The Wall Street Journal reports that Jobs' funeral will be held sometime later today. The event will be a private ceremony but there's no information on exactly when or where the funeral will take place. Apple has already said that there are no plans for a public memorial service. However, that hasn't stopped people from coming to places like Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, California to place messages and objects in front of the building. Similar acts have occurred at Apple's retail stores and at Jobs' residence in Palo Alto, California.

While there won't be an organized public memorial service for Jobs, Apple's new CEO Tim Cook has already told employees via an email that the company is "planning a celebration of Steve's extraordinary life" for Apple staff members. Details about this event should be revealed soon.
