Well the rumours about the 55nm GT200 AKA GT300 will be released the first quarter of 2009.

Nvidia will be releasing 2 cards, the GTX285 and the GTX295, this GTX295 will be a dual GPU card to take back the spot of fastest card on the market from ATI's HD 4870 X2.

GTX285 specs:
Fabrication process: 55nm
GPU speed: 648MHz
Shader speed: 1476MHz
Memory speed: 1242MHz
Memory amount: 1024MB
Memory interface: 512bit
Bandwidth: 159GBps
Power use: 183W

GTX295 specs:
Fabrication process: 55nm
GPU speed: 576Mhz
Shader speed: 1242MHz
Memory speed: 999MHz
Memory amount: 2x 896MB
Memory interface: 2x 448bit
Bandwidth: 2x 112GBps
Power use: 289W

There is even a site, Expreview who claims to have benchmarks of the GTX295 and they look promising.
If Nvidia would price these cards nicely then ATI might have a problem again to compete.

Nice. I'll be able to use the 'step up' program since I bought an EVGA card and just pay the difference :rofl_mini:
