Have you tried linux yet?

i have tried Redhat 8 and Redhat 9, i managed to get the internet on Redhat 9 today actually.

What is your opinion of linux? Personally i don't really like it, i installed it out of boredom because i hadn't really paid much attention to it before.

Actually i've used lindows, redhat, ubuntu, suse, and mandrake, but i honestly can't say i liked any of them. They are too much like windows 3.1, where you have to do everything manually. [just my 2c. worth] :)

ha so true, i am trying them to just say i have been there and done that, i want to expand my horizons but all roads lead back to my XP workstation.

luckily these are all on my test machine not my main pc...i wouldn't do that to my pride and joy.

You are right about doing everything manually, Redhat 9 took ages to find my shared internet (maybe it was me that took ages but it is a simple task in XP)

ran suse for 10 minutes. after going to black screen every 7 seconds, i went
back to windows ;) tried the "project looking glass"...it upset my stomach :)
knoppix was happy and easy, vector linux looked good (transparencies :D ).
