When testing software or doing reviews on them, i generally install "TinyResMeter". Its a very small program, less than 100K, and it allows me to do screenshots on the fly. Just push the printscreen button and it saves your screenie in a screenshot folder as a bmp. It is highly customizable, gives you system information without being intrusive. Give it a try!

For Windows

that's a neat one nvy  i don't know if anybody uses this, but it can "freshen" up your boot time, and clear
some clutter when used ever so often: http://www.majorgeek...wnload2495.html

HEHE, i have all the nero's, but don't use any of them anymore, they try to overtake to many things, that's why i like deepburner, very small, very efficent, and does everything i need done. Just my opinion, but am very satisfied with it.

I like dvd shrink, dvd decryptor, vob edit for getting those audio and video files off the dvd, media player classic for viewing almost any file type, audicity for your audio editing needs. One called heroAC3 I think, is good for converting ac3 to wav. 7-zip is a good free compressing program, vnc is very cool, and free. Softperfect offers a very nice and strong firewall thats free. Daemon tools is one of my favorites. I can mount any image and use it without wasting actual dvds or cds. 95% of the time, there is an open source or free version of w/e you want. Just look.
