Warner Bros.’ Batman sequel “The Dark Knight” took in a record $18 million-plus at this morning’s 12:01 shows

That's crazy. I'm going to a midnight Imax show tomorrow but only because we bought our tickets well in advance. Our local news said that almost every theater around here (Imax and regular) are reporting all shows sold-out into the beginning of the week. :)

OK, I was one of those lucky people to contribute to that midnight opening record. I had to preorder my tickets a month in advance but it was well worth it!! I love movies, and I can honestly say after thinking about it for the last day I can honestly say that this is the best movie I have ever seen hands down. Go see this movie asap!!! I am sure I will see it at least three times in theater.

It also took the record for largest first 24 hours away from Spiderman 3, and it currently is on track to also beat spiderman 3's opening weekend record as well. I wouldn't be surprised at all if this beat the record for all time gross of any movie, which currently is Titanic I belive. I just can't say enough about this movie. It is fantastic!!!

No way. Are you serious? There are much much better movies than this around mate. I admit it was good entertainment. But no more than that. I'm one of Christian Bales biggest fans but I didn't much care for his performance in this movie. Loved him in his first Batman movie which is why I can't figure out why I didn't like him in this one.

Heath Ledger put in a good performance as Joker but it wasn't "the Oscar Winning performance" people said he should be nominated for. I know it's very sad that he died but some people really need to open their eyes and be honest. It was a good performance. Not an Oscar Winning one by any stretch. As I said, he was good and I did enjoy his performance but he ain't no Jack Nicholson :chriso:

I thought Aaron Eckhart was great as Harvey Dent/Two Face. With all the hype surrounding Ledgers performance I thought Eckhart stole the show.

I found the story far to predictable too. I know it's a Batman movie and we should all know what to expect but it was to "scripted" for me (if ya get me). And it was about 30 minutes to long.

These are just my views by the way. Delighted you enjoyed it so much (and I enjoyed it too) but it isn't by any means the best movie ever. Not by a long shot.
