Okay so I'm trying to host a webpage and possibly a game server, so lets say I get my computer going right. I want to upgrade my router anyways... I'm thinking Linksys Wireless G, BUT there's so many different one's to choose from.

1. Linksys Wireless-G Cable Gateway

2. Linksys Wireless-G Access Point

3. Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router

4. Linksys Wireless-G Enhanced Broadband Router w/ SpeedBooster

5. Linksys AT&T CallVantage VoIP Wireless-G Router with 2 Phone Ports WRT54GP2A-AT

6. Linksys Compact All-In-One Wireless-G Broadband Router WRT54GC

There is a Linksys 802.11G router that is specifically designed to optimize gameplay. I'd suggest going with that one over the others, because it will also help with the server side of things.

Actually none of those.

http://www.ozcablegu...ion1.html#7402g

The Billion 7402G would be best for you.
You can setup the QoS to setup your servers on low priority, your other traffic to medium and your gaming to high priority.

the linksys has QoS but it cant be configured like the billion can.

Belkin?

I've seen too many Belkin units not working out of the box to recommend them to anyone...

DAMMIT PEOPLE I'm not asking for other companies... read the damn post. What LINKSYS router of the ones I posted is suitable for my Webserver needs? I don't know the first thing about it... do I need a gateway, accesspoint, router, hub... read the post and leave the input ONLY what's on the choices

Thank you Red though, I'll take that into consideration.

Linksys Wireless-G Enhanced Broadband Router w/ SpeedBooster - that's the one to get. A cable gateway is basically a cable modem, nothing more. An accesspoint is useless without an existing network/router, so you don't want that either. The cool part about #4 is that it's capable of speeds up to 125mbps with the speedbooster enabled. The compact model (# 6) doesn't have the range of the other units, so you might not get the coverage you want with it.

N/p :P

But i really would recommend it...you will be GLAD you got that speed booster...and nowadays it doesn't cost a whole lot more..and i think they have those push the button setups now....how easy can you get? It's very nice....I have had experience with linksys before and they turn out as always, very good.
