I used Photoshop CS2 for both. I pretty much just browsed through tutorials on pixel2life.com and expanded them into wallpapers. I made some others but I'm too critical of my own work to post them.

I just used the Background from the Longhorn 4015 PE setup and added x64bit.net to it.

Cheater! That Pixel2Life.com site is the best for tutorials. All sorts of professional programs have tutorials there.
