I love XP and SP2 makes it better, but there is that annoying security center that always pops up with a message.

Here is how to disable the notification area pop ups, this DOES NOT disable the security center in the Control Panel and the process can easily be reversed.

Go to start, Click Run then type Services.msc
Scroll down to the Service called Security Center and double click it
Stop the service and disable it

Oh good, one of my friends asked me how to do that, and I didnt' know what to tell him. This is scary, he asked me just yesterday, and he's some info on it. I'll call the ol' chap straight away. LOL! Thanks!

is it a good Idea to disable it? it could important information.

The security center is for people who want to know what they already know...

You can still access it from the Control Panel, its just to save being pestered.

sometimes pestering can be good though.
