Which brings out the best of you with your computing skills?

I find since starting out on the internet it really made me see more to computers, i found forums, i learnt of Mods, patches, new themes, downloads....and this complemented my skills with software.

Truly in my eyes, without the internet your limited.

In my life its really a combination of the internet and general software. With out the net I wouldn't have found out how to a) find most of those types of software or even how to download it. B) x64bit.net would not exist if the net did not exist

Definately Software. Love testing it, and working with it, but I also love learning from the internet. I know it sounds stupid, but i really owe Kelpfries a lot for teaching me things on the internet that i would have never known. He taught me how to run my own board, starting with ONYD, hopefully up again soon! :) - Thanks again Kelps :)

actually i just realised that we all have different opinions but equally valid points that make you think, oh yeah i never thought of that.

Cool :)

I think the thing that got me started was 'LH 4015'. Damn you gotta learn fast if you want your pc to work again after that, i could do stuff too but this was the first LH i tweaked and got running well.

Without the internet it wouldn't of happened and without LH i wouldn't of learnt to tweak!

Thats what i was saying Red, no matter what the Internet will grow day to day, but what i worry of is will be run out of good domain names?

I think Forums are the KEY to the web, and downloads are the door, you just need to know where things are, and there are folks to TELL you HOW on forums...

I wonder if I could MAKE my own domain so it's noticeable to all.

like wwn.whatever.com

or www.whatever.jay or something so it'd open a CRAPLOAD of more domain names!

But what about companies that already own the other ones.

it would cause a fight and some legal battles (though i agree one day it will HAVE to happen)

You CAN do that BTW, there is a central authority (can't remember what's called) for the registration of domains and such...you would have to pay but you COULD get your own....for example, those porn sites registered for a .xxx domain.
