Did you know that leaving your PC on damages the planet?

Carbon Dioxide pumped in the atmosphere speeds up Global Warming.

PC users at home in the UK created 220,000 tons of the stuff last year and wasted £41 Million in Electricity which is about 71.6844 million U.S. dollars.

Office Users are worse (of course) by creating 645,000 tons of Carbon Dioxide and wasting £123 Million in Electricity which again is about 215.0532 million U.S. dollars.

I am going to take it on myself to turn my PC off when possible, i know its difficult and right up to now i never bothered. Those who want to do an uptime record cool, but after you've done help your planet!

I turn my computer on when I get out of bed, and off when I go in again. Except when I'm downloading something and I don't wanna interrupt the download.

Yup, tonight, she's gotta stay on, downing the latest SuSE 10.1 beta, and I'm going to my parents tomorrow. I think it's better to have the dl completed before I leave for 2-3 days (don't worry, I do have my laptop with me :( )

I never turn mine off, just no need to, with password protection mum and mmy siblings stay away, so needless to say, I got out of th habit. It beats having to save 40 projects, but it sucks redoing them when the power goes out.

LOL Karl... buddy, you need to relax a bit. Seriously global warming's not as bad as people make it out to be, the earth goes through spells, hot and dry, wet, cold, and becasue the earth CHANGES in a CYCLE doesn't mean it's because of global warming. And no, I won't turn my PC off, I like having it warmed up and ready for me when I wake up in the morning or when I get home from work :P
