in a nutshell, yes, it can slow down your speed, especially in vista and a very up to date XP machine, as MS is always doing the touchy-feely thing with vista as to checking WGA, looking for automatic updates, automatically updating WU, etc.

Interesting Banj0, I wonder if increasing the QoS on a poor Skype connection will allocate more reserved BW and make your calls clearer
