From what i can tell, the server has been pulled. tracert goes to theplanet but stops there. I have no CP, nor have i ever had access to the server side of the CP.

I have had no communication with Kelpfries since November 2005, although i have tried to contact him via voice, and e-mail.

I did my best to keep Microbeta running as long as i could without alarming the Members or other staff, but i had a feeling that at the end of the servers contract, the plug was going to be pulled. As for the domain name, it was auto renewed and i have no access to it.

I lost access to the Site FTP around March, for some reason it would no longer accept my password and I was no longer able to update the Monthly desktops so that is why i switched it to "recent" desktops. That way i could control it from Vnews.

For those of you that saw kelpfries on the site, he was not on, that was me. There were certain admin functions that needed to be taken care of through his account.

It had crossed my mind before i lost FTP control, to backup the site in full, and the database in case this happened, but Microbeta is not my site, and i feel it best after all Microbeta had been through, good and bad, if it did go down, I was going to let it Rest In Peace. If Kelpfries decides to bring it back, more power to him.

I do want to apologise for not being able to keep the site up longer, but i just didn't have the recources or access available to me anymore, and again i didnt want to start an uproar, or have members leave because an end might be in sight. I really had no idea how long Microbeta would keep running

With that said, If you know any members over at Microbeta, please feel free to point them to this thread for an explination of the fate of Microbeta. Please do not "cut and paste" it on other sites.

Although x64bit.net is not Microbeta, nor do we want to be, we welcome all Microbeta members to come and join in on our forums, our name says x64, we have something for everyone. If you know any members, please feel free to invite them.

For my last task of being Admin of Microbeta, I would ask everyone to please think of all the good times Microbeta gave you, and with one last request, please do not pick it apart now that its gone.

Thanks to all the members of Microbeta who made my Admin Position and enjoyable one there!

Dave
aka, nvyseal!

Microbeta, RIP

~edit~ I almost forgot, - Thank you all the staff members who served with me, for the time and dedication you gave myself and Microbeta, I would happily work with you again, anytime! Thank you!

even though i had just left, i still feel sad that its gone as it was a really top quality forum with lots of activity and movement, and it would be awsome if people still did keep in contact and join up x64, so that we can keep the good stuff flowing!

Microbeta was the first forum i joined and it gave me great pleasure being a member of the forum.
I did learn alot from other members some of which i consider to be friends. Im sad its gone but all good things come to an end and yes dave you and ryan did a cracking job to keep it going for as long as you did.
I must say though that i did sort of see it comeing.

RIP Microbeta.

Martin.

Hey guys, hope all of you have been good. I figured I would say a few words to explain the situation. Last year I took a higher position in my company which required me to travel, quite a bit. I have been to 8 different countries in the past year, some for a couple of months at a time. While I like travelling, it leaves me no time to do anything other than work. Dave has done an incredible job of keeping MB up and running in that time and I want to thank him for his efforts. I also would like to thank the other staff at Microbeta for working so hard and being diligent in keeping the site up to date. Last but not least I would like to thank the members of MB for all of your contributions. The MB server was taken down due to an accounting error, but there was really no reason for me to bring it back online, so I have agreed to have the MB domain redirect to the forums here at x64bit. I dont know what the future holds for MB, someday I would like to startup another project, but for right now, my time is too limited to start anything. Additionally, it is not fair to people like Dave to have to run the site while I do nothing.

Well, thats my little explanation. We had a good run and some good times. I will drop by every once in a while to add my own little contributions.

Kelpfries.

Not to be harsh or anything guys but why dosnt Kelps bring it back up? He didnt give a reason why not to and there are many members from there that we wont see again... Like Nitram, Microbeta was my first site - and it was my home. I put alot into that site and only to see it dissapear for no reason. :(
