A couple things:
The video iPod is cheaper than a regualr iPod Nano. Why is that? I'd take the video one over the other in a flash.

My father has a creative ZEN and its cheaper than a "real" iPod, and its still 40GB and looks really nice, nicer than an iPod actually, and works the same. That was my point in the post I made above. Why not just get a ZEN?? I would. Plus you can just drag and drop from windows, and not "have" to use iTunes to mess around with. Which I find annoying.
Someone tell me, why not a ZEN.
I know this thread is old but I was browsing through those which seemed interesting and ended up here.

I wanted to say that from january to april I took part in a study about integrating podcasting into study and classes at the Université de Montréal (University of Montreal for those who don't understand lol) and they gave us a free iPod video 30gb or ZEN Vision:M (video 30gb). I wanted an iPod but got a ZEN and was VERY impressed. As it's been previously said, the file transfer is much simpler and you're not required to use a proprietary program such has iTunes, though there's one coming with the player.

I had never had an mp3 player before, I was still using my old-school Panasonic cd-player I bought in 2001 (does not even read mp3 CD's !). Now that I've tried it, I will absolutely have to buy one before school starts in september (2x1h15 of bus/subway each day, need entertainment...) For approximately the same price (some times less) and more features (integrated microphone and FM radio), the ZEN is definately my choice over the iPod.

If Apple wasn't already known as is it and if Creative did more marketing, I have no doubt the ZEN sales would be higher the the iPod's since it's simply better !

Just my two cents...
