Has anyone tried Driver Magician? It seems to be a great idea available for Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista/x64. I was thinking, maybe you might be able to "sneak" a driver into Server 2008 from a Vista Install etc.

Driver Magician Lite identifies all the hardware in your computer, extracts their associated drivers from the hard disk and backs them up to a location of your choice.

Then when you format and reinstall/upgrade your operating system, you can restore

Take a look at it here: http://www.drivermag...n.com/index.htm

it looks interesting. i dunno about installing software that pokes around you system, and has the ability to access the net to hunt around for updates though...maybe that's just me. heck, it's probably really neat.

AWESOME app, saves me loads of time at the shop, the one I use is portable though and I usually run it across the network.

Cool find. I just used Acronis for the first time to create an image of my lappy so I will have less of a headache when I do a "nuke and repave". This sounds like a very useful alternative tool.

For systems for client that need a reload this and Fab's Autobackup save LOADS of time, this handles putting all drivers in folders in a location of my choice and fabs backs up about anything one might need to before a reload, restore on either is also very easy. For the driver prog I like portable as I can run across the network or from a flash drive and fabs the same way, no install required, and fabs has a pe version as well if anyone found it was required to be used in that capacity.
