As you know Windows Live messenger will not run on Vista 5308. www.x64bit.net has come up with a guide to allow you to install WLM8 build 566 on Vista 5308.

1, Get the current build of WLM8 566
2, Extract the files using winRAR (leave the bootstrap alone)
3, make sure you have no unnecessary processes/applications running such as chat programs.
4, Click and install the .msi program
5. Start Messenger 8

Enjoy! :D

I tried this with the latest build of WLM in Vista 5308 if folks were wondering.

So the Bootstrap.exe in the package is literally to stop it working on Vista. I wonder why?

I heard office12 doesn't work on Vista either.
