This won't work with Longhorn but in XP you can change the LogonUI without software.

Firstly Enter Regedit, then go into
'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Software>Microsoft>Windows NT>Current Version>Winlogon.

Under here change the 'UIHost' to whatever location your new logon Screen is kept, for example 'C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Logon\logonui.exe' instead of 'Logonui'.

You will need to CREATE the folder Logon under 'C:\WINDOWS\Resources' yourself

(The name of the Logon Screen can vary from LogonUI.exe so change it accordingly in the registry)

Remember to include the .exe extension when editing the registery entryand DO NOT RESTART OR LOG OFF, instead Press Winkey+L to test it.

CLICK HERE to get more Logon Screens - Remember to change their names to logonui.

To edit your User account pictures and to add your own to the official list in the User Account manager go to Start, then click Run. Paste in %systemdrive%\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\User Account Pictures
