NP, I'm a pirate, I really don't have anything to give, but I'll take everything I can :likewinmandr2:

I was just trying to trick you into letting your defenses down :Laie_56:

what exactly is a disappointment to you?

Well, I'm glad to see I'm not alone..

But I also think that Microsoft and their activation policies has kept allot of us who install operating systems quite frequently using pirated or cracked copies to keep from going broke.

If I could buy one copy and use it many times in my own home without having to jump through hoops to keep it going then
Microsoft would have made more money from me-- for I have no problem buying something if I can use it any way I want for my own use.

:likewinmandr2:

Dude u have got to be kidding me, the activation process isnt that bad. WGA was put in place to stop exactly what u claim your doing, pirating it. Its their software and they have every right to try to protect their investment and material.

- horrible performance
- lack of decent drivers
- lack of compatibility with some programs
- networking issues when other computers run a different OS (XP 32bit or 64bit in my case)
- there are probably more which don't come to mind now

Now where do I start?

So....after a YEAR of Vista, your telling me that the blame resides with the 'vendors'??? I'm sorry, but that excuse has worn way too thin by now. :likewinmandr2:

Performance is a complete disaster in an OS that took the best part of FIVE years to surface, not to mention it ain't been fixed in the 'sweep under the carpet, fob the customer off' SP1. Take 'file copying', the basics of any standard OS, its broken and still ain't fixed with this service pack!?

Bloat?......Vista is the biggest resource hog of any OS to date, and there is no denying that.

64bit support is even poorer and dying by the minute as regards Vista, no hope on that one I'm afraid.

No........what we have here is what we had a few years ago when MS got it wrong (remember, I do, my memory's long). :roadrunner: They, (MS), want you to believe its OK, until you forget one day and go buy something that they may just fix in a remarkably short amount of time......amazing that!?

Seems what "isn't" would be a shorter list for you Rik...lol.

To be a contributer to the thread.......... I have XP Pro 32 legal times 3, XP x64 legal times 1, and a not installed legal Vista Business times 1.

Couple of months down the line, and I feel I wasted money on buying Vista. SP1 does help it, but your OS should be made to run on hardware. Not the hardware made for the os. Hopefully Windows 7 will be better than Vista

Using windows 7 is like getting the quality of windows XP with the technical advancement of Vista and then some extra technical advancements ontop.

But if had no choice but to choose XP or Vista, i will choose Vista any day. Windows 7 is just an excellent OS if you can get it.

Oh and I havent paid for a legit windows in nearly 3 years, my boss gives me his action pack stuff =D

In my whole life I only ever bought two MS OSes. Windows XP Home edition and Windows XP x64. I skipped Vista for obvious reasons. I don't see the point in buying Windows 7 yet (but I surely will. I love it) because the RC is good until mid next year.
