I'd do a clean install MO, as I have done from the start

Be sure to EXPORT your BOOKMARKS before you begin, then IMPORT them back into Firefox 3 when done.

First, download CCleaner and install.

1. Add & Remove Firefox 2 and/or 3 through Add/Remove in Control Panel.

2. Delete these directories:

C:\Program Files\Mozilla

C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Mozilla

C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla

3. Run a search for 'Firefox' and delete the 'Prefetch' entries.

4. Open Regedit, starting at the top, do a FIND and type in 'Mozilla' (not Firefox or you will be there forever). Delete all relating to the above directories and nothing else!! (F3 will move you to the next find)

5. Reboot the system.

6. Run CCleaner and click 'Registry' section on left. Tick & untick as set below:

Click 'scan for issues' button when set as above and let it finish the scan.

IMPORTANT! Right click anywhere in results list and choose DESELECT ALL.

Look through the list and select all of the 'Mozilla' ones, there will be a few. Click 'Fix Selected Issues' to remove them all.

7. Reboot system.

8. Install Firefox 3.
