:chriso: So, I got up this morning, headed to work and fired up Outlook to read my email. For some reason the Egg is having some issues with their email setting or something. I have the usual promotions email in my inbox but some of the images aren't loading up. You try and view the letter in your browser, and you get the login for username and password:

:) Wow, never had this happen before. I take it as a red flag. Then I check out my invoice and shipping emails (just bought more ram for my lappy and a bluetooth headset), and I got this:

Just a quick search on google, and I find references to it being an image protocol issue. I'm not sure where to post this, but I figured that I would pass on what I have learned.

what browser are you using? i also noticed a third of the promo's pics are not loading when clicking on the link in the email, using thunderbird and chrome. but no login or that other stuff is displayed...that seems tied to outlook...

weird, as those windows look like an outlook/domain thing, rather than newegg stuff. i dunno...are you in a domain at work?

edit: um, duh, i glanced over the akaimi mention: they may have made some changes to that particular service...

Dear e-Blast Subscriber,

We apologize to those of you who experienced some technical difficulties when trying to open today's edition of the Newegg e-Blast Newsletter. One of our servers was temporarily down, causing the e-Blast to display incorrectly for some recipients.

The e-Blast is now running correctly again, and we would like to reassure you that this was a purely internal technical issue—none of your private information has been accessed or leaked outside our secure network. We take our customers’ privacy very seriously and have run a thorough check to ensure that your personal data has not in any way been compromised, so please rest assured.

This morning’s temporary server failure is an extremely rare occurrence at Newegg and we are putting additional measures in place to ensure a similar problem will not occur again. We apologize for the inconvenience this morning’s technical difficulties may have caused you and thank you for your understanding and patience with the situation.

Sincerely,

The Newegg e-Blast Team
