Microsoft intend to sell their Software online more to help counter out
the likes of Google/Yahoo dominating the web and also like the music industry, change the whole
way things are done.

Do you believe this is what Microsoft needs to do?

Yeah why not, sometimes its useful to own a licence and if you can buy one online and download the ISO .. hell yeah everyone should be providing that option.

agreed, but MS is loosing their monopolistic grip on everything, they are starving to keep a hold on the ladder, but everyone's jsut climbing over top of them. See the computer world has grown so much, there is no possible way to stay on top of EVERYTHING, but it's better to TRY to stay on top of the majority of things that people are going for.

Though till MS let go mate, Window will remain the most used platform i think...Vista will either be life or death!

I actually hope they work it out and that vista is ok.

It'll be life I have a feeling, but if they SERIOUSLY want to hit big, they need to drop the high expectations like 2GB ram minimum... if people can't be happy with using it to it's fullest extent with out upgrading their whole damn pc, they're not going to want to use it... I for one am disgusted at how much ram the DWM eats up ;) BUT it's an AMAZING feature

I agree...if vista is a failure then M$ is DONE.....they have spent enormous resources on this project...if it fails i think they will seriously die off.

With MS, vast wealth, they'll never die, they can afford a flop or two, they did survive M.E.

vista isnt gonna flop , you dont even know the half of what is to come. Your basing your opinions on half ass assumptions that just arent true. Beta 2 will reveal alot about vista. About its specs being too much , Ms hasnt officially released the minimum specs because its still a freakin beta! We cant live in this world where evolving technology just slows to a halt. If your worried bout it using too much of this and too much of that..stick with XP , no ones holding a gun to any of your heads telling you to use vista. Open your eyes alittle more hand have a little faith ...they care alot bout Vista..if they didnt they'd still be building upon the 4xxx code..which was utter ****

for some reason, people always want to act like big businesses are retarded, and we the consumer know whats better...i do agree that at times we the consumer knows what's best and at times i wonder why i can't run a company. But the majority of the time and products released, a lot of thinking goes into it...they don't just throw something out there, they aren't retarded, they know what they are doing...sometimes they'll be off, but they aren't retarded! Vista will not be a flop, they know they need to be big...everyone wants to treat microsoft like they are a retarded giant, but look at what they are doing! look at office12, look at vista, look at all this live ****, they are taking google seroiusly, they are taking everything seriously!

No one said that MS was doing badly or weren't taking things seriously, i started the topic about a change in strategy.

They want to keep up with new trends.
