Tomshardware got their hands on a prototype Intel SMithfield Dual Core system.
they have X86-64 but unfortunately as i feared the cores communicate with each-other via the front side bus between them, they go directly to each-other not all the way to the Nbridge and back, still kinda slow =\

the chips perform like single core chips in games and most apps, multi tasking is excellent like any DUal cpu system, and only a handful of professional video and image editing software performs up to 55% better.

each core will only have 1mb l2 cache and share this cache between each-other, and only the extreme editions will have hyper threading, which means on EE's will show up as 4 logical cpus also EE will have full unlocked multipliers
