I a wondering if anyone has gotten the Battlefield 2142 demo to work. I have tried it in Vista and XP x64 and neither work. I get the same error on both. Therefore, I figured maybe my download was bad so I redownloaded it last night and I still get the same error. Something along the lines of the following file is missing: dx3dx9_29.dll.

Hummm..... seems strange that it would do the same thing on two different OS's and several different downloads.

Yeah. If it was hardware related I'd say fair enough but a missing file?

Maybe the EA downloader your using is currupt ?

Got it working!! Reinstalled dx9c and worked fine. Missing a bunch of dx files, wonder why the original install screwed up? Oh well I am just glad I can play now!!

The graphics don't look all that great right now. But would say that is because it is the demo so I am not worried. Gameplay is pretty fun though!! I don't like the menu interface much though.
