Windows Vista has everything, a new GUI, new features and also things that yes will be missing that will get shipped later. So at least the promised things will happen. Vista is like a bolt-on OS allowing Microsoft to take it forward since its life-span will of just started. XP is heading toward a point where 'not much more can be done with this' specially if Microsoft say so :)

With Vista taking so long to hit us, has it stepped on Vienna's toes? Will people want a whole new OS again?

Personally i think Vienna could be an amazing project IF microsoft take it seriously. If they used the resources they could create a whole new OS and take the OS market by storm.

Hmm not yet I don't think Vienna hasn't even begun yet so Vista can't have out sold it till Vienna is under way :)

ohh no, Vienna is suppose to be revolutionary and is suppose to change the entire way we use a windows computer, so had vista done that? No I don't think so, it has advanced us but we still have the start bar :)

The start menu is as far as i can see at its max but its the most useful part of my Windows OS and the main reason i like it.

If Vienna is the complete new system with tighter locked down code e.t.c then i am all for it :)

that's what they HOPE and PLAN for but we'll see what they come out with, maybe it will be a revolution and change EVERYTHING we see a computer as :)

I've posted before about that MS project to create a new OS thats not windows code and everything is new and refined.

If we don't get that with Vienna hopefully that will be after that.

yeah they weren't planning on it being Windows branded right? Blackcomb has always been Windows Codename Blackcomb and now Windows Codename Vienna so as far as I know simplicity is still another project different from Vienna.
