:P @ Eni, nah nothing weird so far I'm using a Nero7 essentials OEM off of a fairly recent LG dvd driver disc ver 7.11.3.0 ,it actually lets aero work with it as the background in the nero window is transparent like aero ;)Attachment Capture.JPG

Googling around it appears to be caused by using a high DPI setting. Oh well. I'm too lazy to check to see if that's the answer as I wouldn't change my DPI anyway so I'm going to try Nero 9 and see if it suffers from the same problem.

Thanks.

lol I'm at 1920 x 1200 as well. DPI settings are independent of resolution. I like my text and icons bigger than 1920 x 1200 generally allows.

Apparently Nero 8 suffers from the same bug. StartSmart starts up alright, but as soon as you start Nero Express or Nero Burning ROM, Aero Glass gets turned off and you default to the old Windows 98 look.

I guess I'm going to try Nero 9 next.

Also, what burning programs other than Nero 7 is everyone using?

Thanks.

Hey all, MS is listening - I installed the update for compatibility issues for x86 issues, and it fixed my problem with quickbooks. its RC KB970789 you can read all about it here or get it from Windows Update.

If any of you are having install problems and are on x86 i suggest getting this update for RC. I did have to still install quickbooks in XP compatibility mode, but now it works :P
