Anyone tried it in VMware? I get a BSOD before the boot loader even finishes.

mmm, no i havent. If you have Virtual PC try that OR do a Dual boot.

I did it for 5308 and it's not good! Well I'm a n00b at that so maybe you can but I have not found out how to change the color bit rate better then 4 lol so it looks really bad and I do not recommend it at all

and obviously it demands a lot of your system. XP running and Vista is more than just Vista on a dual boot

Yes thats why I have 1.5GB of RAM and a 3.00GHz HT pc so in VMWare I set it for 512MB of RAM and 2 CPU's so it would run a little bit faster?
