well, i tried the live cd part...and no audio in x64 version...dang. i wanted to run it too. looked great, and you can fetch the latest nvidia driver and install it without having to chant obscure verses for 20 minutes. dang.

Another very damn cool thing is when you browse your music if you pause the mouse over a mp3 it will start playing it, an soon as you move the mouse away it shuts it off. Probably other cool things like this, just takes time to find out.

i recently got an auzentech x-meridian. my old m-audio worked better in linux than in windows, so i replaced it. now i have a fantastic, stable card/windows drivers (including vista), but no audio in x64 ubuntu :boom: , unless this is just a livecd issue... :bluerip:

it looks like the c-media 8788 chip might have issues in linux atm (which the meridian uses). i'll do a bit more searching (the bluegears linux driver might work...).

yes, and that's why i am getting no audio (i think...). the old m-audio card used the envy chip, and linux had the drivers for it, but checking around for c-media 8788 (auzentech x-meridian) chip drivers, i'm not getting any encouraging information...

Well I ran the Live cd and got no NIC driver, no internet connection. I have never had Linux on this Winfast Board. I am not trying to be negative but a Linux rookie needs everything to work upon install. I know it will work, but as MO is having to do there will be a search. I will try it on my Linux box before I search anything. In my experience if Linux does not work from the get go there is a grave battle ahead. :bluerip:

I have been fighting with gentoo 2006.1, 64bit an 32bit. unfortunatly it dont want to work with me, I disabled my SATA drives, thus the raid too, an installed it to my master IDE drive, after trying everything I could think of, in the installer, I just tried with it compiling from the genkernal on the livecd, well it finally installed, I reboot an it goes to the command line, I cant get X to start at all, finally after trying everying from emerge --sync to emerge --deep world, which by the way said there was incompatible sys something, cant remember now, an I could not get it to fix no matter what. I just formated an put Ubuntu back on.

Here is a screen shot, this O/S Great an pretty darn easy too.Attached File  Screenshot.png   1.16MB   19 downloads
