Why on earth did you choose computers? What makes you stick around these machines?
Mine is something like this:
The touch of the cold metal case, The thrill of pushing the power button, hearing the fans come alive followed by a greating HDD light and the sound of the hard drive going at work. The sound of the cd-rom drive initializing looking for new data to install via a bootable disk, or the floppy drive searching for anything other than cob webs. The flicker of the screen as the electronic signals fly through the motherboard ragin toward the video card filling the cathodes and anodes with bursts of light, displaying the beauty of a welcome screen. The sound and feel of the soft plastic keys under the furious keying I spend into the early hours of the morning. It's partially control, I control what I see when I see it by programming, utilizing, word processors, it's an aid as well as a development. The enjoyment of talking to millions of users world wide. It's a way of claming me down, controling my thoughts and emotions through the wires of my dsl modem. This is my life, with out it, I can't survive, it's a feeling that I can't aquire through anything else, there is no supplement, there is no replacement, I'm an addict.

The matrix, no control over ourselves, this is not the real world...this is a computer program
No computers were an escape to begin with, i broke a lot and eventually i got lucky and fixed one...

heh... isn't that how it always goes Karl? You try something and ruin it a few times till you get it right and from then on it becomes easier.
