My brother's computer runs a P-3 and it doesn't really slow down at all, he runs all kinds of worthless crap at the same time, think it's just a fluke or maybe some installed/running prgrams may have an affect on how fast anti spyware runs?

I think so, remember this reports found trojans e.t.c to Spynet to allow research into these things so maybe internet connection also affects it

Who knows, It's just a regular crappy old computer I threw together with parts around the house, two 80 GB hdd and a P-3, 256 MB RAM, nothing spectacular. It doesn't bother it what so ever. I don't get any lag when running it on my computer either...

specs are down there

ran it for a while. it did pick up things that splybot
and adaware didn't, unless they were false positivites :P
i guess we will see when and if their "all-in-one" takes
off (sounds cool).

Actually, did you gusy know that M$ antispyware and Sunbelt COunter-spy, the top rated spyware remover, are built on the same core? WHich means M$ antispyware has potential.

Yes i have but i don't see how it detects Viruses, AFAIK it only detects Adware / Spyware.

Its been pretty usefull, provides some control over what apps do with your autorun and Shell Extensions.

Spyware is mainly a program disguised as something innocent but containing viruses with it :P

Actually, Spyware and virii are completely different entities. The reason it's called spyware is because it sends information back to a server or website, without user's permission. Virii, OTOH, cause damage to files or the OS itself.

As far as Microsoft Anti-Spyware goes, I tried out, and uninstalled it. It missed several legitimate pieces of spyware I had on a test system, and flagged severl benign files as spyware. Between the false positives and the missed known spyware, I couldn't recommend it for my own use, let alone for the company I was testing it for.

Unless you run x64. For some reason, Webroot made some changes between the 4.0 and 4.5 versions that make the current release incompatible with XP x64. Webroot's response is "SpySweeper has not been tested to work with XP x64. Sorry."
