Because of the overloaded Microsoft servers it can be hard to get a valid key. To get a valid key the fastest just follow these simple steps :

Step 1 : Logon to http://technet.microsoft.com (click on Sign in in the upper right corner with your Microsoft Passport ID ie: Hotmail etc.)

Step 2 : Copy (Don’t CLICK IT!) one of the links below to the address bar and press enter :

32-Bit key :
https://www.microsoft.com/betaexperience/scripts/gcs.aspx?Product=tn-win7-32-ww&LCID=1033
(don’t click, Copy and Paste!)

64-bit key :
https://www.microsoft.com/betaexperience/scripts/gcs.aspx?Product=tn-win7-64-ww&LCID=1033
(don’t click, Copy and Paste!)

Tip : You can use the 64-bit during a 32-bit installation and a 32-bit key during a 64-bit installation (it seems that getting a 64-bit key is faster!)

Step 3 : If you receive an error, just press CTRL & F5 (non cache load) to refresh (I had to refresh more than 10 times before I received the key), if you’re being redirected then you didn’t follow the steps 1 and 2 correctly!

If you followed the steps correct you should see your key (depending on your version it could also say Windows 7 Beta 32-bit Product Key :bluerip:

Enjoy!

I'm just too good to ya lot :rofl_mini:

I don't have a Passport ID so if anyone gets an extra key for 64bit I'd be much obliged to get a PM. :chriso: :bluerip: :rofl_mini: :bluerip:

Still having trouble? Try this:

Here is a guide to definitely get a 64-bit key (well almost guaranteed) for those who might be struggling:

1. Use Firefox. Add the "check4change" add-on @ Firefox Addons , search for check4change and then click "Add to Firefox". Restart as required by clicking restart button.)

2. Open TechNet page per link and login using your hotmail/passport account details.

3. Open new tab, and go to
https://www.microsoft.com/betaexperience/scripts/gcs.aspx?Product=tn-win7-64-ww&LCID=1033
(64-bit link). The page with "Error... The site is currently experiencing technical....." should appear.

4. Highlight any wording, e.g. "The site is currently", right click and choose Check4Change, then Custom... Set refresh interval between 2-10 seconds (I put 2 seconds), click "Bring to Front" under Notifications, and also click "Allow navigating away from a monitored page" under Problem Solvers". Click Ok.

5. The page will keep refreshing every few seconds until a change is noticed.

6. Repeat steps 3-4 for as many tabs as you want - around 5 seemed to be right. Too many are being selfish and will slow things down anyway, and too few will take longer. Good luck!

I am in the same boat as banjo, no hotmail account, I could use one, 32 or 64bit.

I thought I did get some spares too, because I had 3 tabs open that showed keys, but it turned out that they were all the same key. :rofl_mini:

I even managed to announce my luck, on the x64bit.net chat, as I thought I was able to deliver a couple of unused keys, before I realized that I was mistaking. :bluerip:

But anyway, it's nice to have the activated Win7 system up and running.

Regards
LDJ
