Exactly, Lets say i put oversized tires(hardware) on my Jeep (OS) and then i wear out my axle. I cant blame the OS for it, but i highly doubt the manufacturer will take blame. I just dont see it as the OS's fault

very interesting analogy, however one main difference is that you can go buy axles from ford and put on your jeep cuz they are stronger, you can not go get a linuxed based.....what ever, and put into your windows os to make it stronger, or faster or whatever, well if your very good with code you might be able to but that would be illegal. lmao

Well, while it's interesting, I don't really care whose fault it is, I just want my system to work, and work fast.

But back to the topic-

"Microsoft might boast about shipping 100 million copies of Windows Vista, but it must be merely putting on a brave face to hide its embarrassment at having failed to hype Vista enough to excite more than 39 per cent of new PC buyers to take it.

Consumer aversion to Vista is so pronounced the major PC OEMs like Dell and HP literally mutinied last year, successfully demanding that Microsoft extend the availability of Windows XP preloads. Windows XP is leaner and faster than Vista."

One interesting point made is that the market has doubled since XP came out so while they have sold more copies of Vista than XP in the first year the % is actually much lower.
