...and i meant stunt/actor man huggers and scientologists, not real ones. depiction of any real living or dead man huggers or scientologists is purely coincidental...

As much as I'm trying luv Veeeesta Ultimate because I paid for it I can't. I didn't read the above article but... this can't be tolerated! A known kernel leak with an emergency hotfix you may have to pay to get support for????? :talker: :roadrunner:

I have my copy of home premium on my sig rig. I still don't like it much, it is snappier than on some of the new rigs. But it still sucks wind, takes forever to get a file off the other partition, the defrag is slow and doesn't give you a decent UI.

And I got my retail copy......FREE! I was a good boy and M$ sent me a copy.

I am unbelievably dissapointed with fruity (Vista, because the name is fruity). I can't believe that in 5 years, with the amount of resources thrown at it and the number of developers working on it that this $400 lump of dog s**t is the best M$ can come up with. When XP was in development and I tried the first beta, I was impressed. It was a big leap forward from W2K and turned out to be a fast and reliable OS with some good features and had much improved usability over W2K. They were on the right track back then and I have been completely satisfied with XP on my machines for the past few years. The amount of issues I have had with my own systems and the systems at work due to WinXP is very minimal. But this, this joke, this insult to its end users, yes, thats right, I said insult. Because thats what it is isnt it? They packaged up a hot steamy turd, put some "glass" effects on the bag of crap before setting the bag on fire, leaving it on my doorstep and ringing the doorbell. Only M$ doesn't wait in the bushes for me to come out and start jumping hysterically on the burning present they gave me, no, they run around to the back of the house, smash the window, reach for my wallet thats on the kitchen table and pull out $400 for their trouble.

"What's that M$? The Ultimate Extra's will make it all better and will make me feel all warm and toasty inside?" Well thats fantastic, awesome, here, let me get into position and bend over this table so you can give me the Ultimate Extra's.......

I also think Vista is a major disaster. I have uninstalled it on 3 PCs so far for people who got it pre-installed and absolutely hated it. In my opinion (and I am very opinionated) it is a resource pig.

One of the PCs has 2 gigs of ram and an AMD 5200+ dual core and it was still slower than molasses in January even after I disabled all of the glitz and sparkle. I put Windows XP Pro on it and it runs like a banshee.

There must be something inherently wrong with that OS and I doubt a service pack or two will be any help. We can only wait and see...

Gratuitous Rant: doG, I hate Vista! I don't particularly care for the look of it either. They should definitely throw the baby out with the bath water on this one. Micro$oft... The company you love to hate, and hate to love... bwaahahahahahaha

Edited for lack of proof reading before I posted...
