OK, tested a few things.

Removed caddy drive and optical drive from ICH10, set SSD on port 1 and shoved RAID on ports 4/5/6 (leaving ports 2/3 empty in between), not 1 jot of a difference, read scores and write scores exactly the same, so that proves the theory about the bandwidth.

Replaced SATA cable on SSD with a better quality type, again, same results.

Have now just set up as follows: Port1 - SSD / Port 2 - FREE / Ports 3/45 - RAID and Port 6 - Caddy. Shoved DVD Sata on JMicron controller and its installed OK with DMA running now.

However, more problems lol!!

JMicron AHCI mode set in BIOS:

The DVD drive reads OK, but will write NOTHING! it detects no blank disks but reads media OK.

JMicron IDE mode set in BIOS:

No fuckin drive detected.

SCREAM SCREAM SCREAM and SCREAM again!!!!

:rofl_mini:

OK got the JMicron prob fixed lol, had to manually install the JMicron drivers as Win7 never picked them up :rofl_mini:

I still wonder why it only operates in PIO mode on Intel controller? I'd rather have it back on there.
