you "need" two sticks to use Dual Channel to Double your memory bandwidth.

well, for my next upgrade i was looking at dual opterons (single core to
start) but after checking out the new socket 939 dual core opterons, i've
made my decision. i can still use my present mobo, ram, etc., but get the 3 lanes
(single on athlons) from the opteron :D first up, need a bigger case for that
watercooling...can;t wait :P

i actually almost went watercooling with the mini aquagate...i stuck with a Xp-90 :P ...i look forward to either getting a Athlon 64 or an Opteron rig going.

Watercooling is just plain sweet....they cost a bit though...from a student's point of view...LOL
