Well, I did try the upgrade and was politely informed that upgrade was not available from Server to 7. If I would like, I could hit the back button and do a fresh install but would loose all of my existing files. I have a spare 250 GB SATA drive that I may slip in and do a clean install on that drive. It would be a pain to plug and unplug but it is a solution. I could upgrade the XP x64 system but it has been running for many years perfectly. Plus, it is an old single core 3.0 Ghz Pentium 4 with 2 GB DDR 533. I would really like to try 7 on something a little beefier.

I am there. I went ahead and did the dual boot thingy and so far, it is flawless. Working as a standard dual boot configuration. My network was immediately found and all systems accessable. To laugh at my self some, I was looking at the list of systems that are in my workgroup and I couldn't find the server. DOAH

Hi Guys, I am running the windows 7 RC as my only OS, for the last 2 weeks iv had no problems at all and i am suprised to have had no issues at all.
I needed windows 7 specific video and sound drivers but everything else like mouse and keyboard drivers are working fine using vista 64 installers and also it seems just using intel matrix storage drivers for vista 64 work also.

hey v, i just used vista drivers if anything needed it, though the only thing that didn't auto install was my audio. pretty slick. it even has drivers for my adaptec card, along with the latest intel sata/raid.

Picked up the lot here on my system, apart from X-Fi drivers
Installed the 185.81/85 Nvidia Win7 drivers but they are well borked. Using the Vista 182.50 set and they work just fine.
