Step One: Download the Bittorrent BETA from http://www.bittorrent.com

(sorry no screen shot, self explainitory)

Step Two: Install the Bittorrent Beta

(again Self explainitory)

Step Three: Make a new folder

Step Four: Name your folder (I named mine 'Rad Car Pictures') and copy all the files that you want to be downloadable into that folder.

Step Five: Navigate to start, All Programs, BitTorrent, Click Make Torrent

(Self Explainitory)

Step Six: Time to get working, your screen should look like this... Click 'Choose'

Posted Image

Step Seven: Now click 'Select a folder'

Posted Image

Step Eight: Select your folder that contains your files for the torrent (i.e. Rad Car Pictures) and click 'Ok'

Posted Image

Step Nine: Select your 'Piece Size'

Posted Image

Step Ten: Set the tracker to use and what not and you can also add a comment. Now click 'Make'

Posted Image

Step Eleven: Your screen should look like this...

Posted Image

Now click 'Seed' to begin sharing your torrent :)

Is there a way we could host this within our own group without having to submit it to the world?

No, I don't think so. Most torrent programs don't allow you to exclude others or leech, as that is the whole point behing torrent. You would either have to get a custom one or sharee w/ everyone.

Sorry for partially stealing your thunder, but kw13 was poking me with a red-hot brading iron. We wanted to get it into the newsletter (and I need the extra post cos my post count is quite frankly crap).

I know there is a way to do what you're talkin about Dave, but I think you have to have your own tracker. Just kinda an IP recognition system. In other words you register at a site, it takes your information (IP addy and some other control panel stuff), and then it recognizes your IP when you logon to your tracker.

Hey umm Dave, make the torrent, host the torrent here WITHOUT sharing it to the world and we will download it and run it, so long as no one leaks it, only we can leach it.
