As time progresses so do we and behind we leave yesterday's gadgets and software.

How long before we laugh at the interface of XP?
Remember 3.1/3.11?
95?

These are what got US ALL here with Windows, without those a solid base would never been developed, and lets face it even though we all moan about Windows...it's been here since Adam and Eve and we all use it at some point in our lives.

Internet Cafe's and businesses may be running NT, i know the other day a cash till i went to use had crashed and was left with the START-MENU on Windows NT 4.0...old faithful!

So really with all our complaints, the fact we move on that we MUST NOT FORGET those things that got us here.

Do you think Bill Gates expected to be so well off?

Bravo, Well said!!! I applaud you, as for Bill Gates, I don't know maybe he had it planed but with taking a risk in anything, you NEVER know what the outcome will be!

But if I were Bill, I'd watch my back cause I'm going to own Microsoft aftr college :) ... I wish.

well i dont think anybody would create a company and know that they would be one of the richest people in the world afterwards, lol - but windows has come a long way, and when you look at the difference between windows 1.0 and Vista, there is no way you can bag Vista, lol

The days of GUI's having the XP/Vista look are out numberd. When the next generation of GUI's come out, it will be amazing. But KW13 is right we will all remeber that it started with good ole Windows 1.0/Apple Mac

My first OS at PC was MS-DOS 4.01 and my XT has only two floppy disks!
Them came MS-DOS 5.0, 6.0 and 6.22.

Windows 286/386, Windows 3.0, 3.1. 3.11 for Workgroups!

Those old days were weird!
