Now I know this might sound like a weird question but think of it. We have already seen how much the startmenu changed from Windows 95 to XP. And it seems Vista's starmenu is just an update on XP's.

Surely Microsoft will have to redesign it for the OS after Vista? What do you think it will look like?

they could have made it invisible in vista for starters, though most are so used to having it there, like me.

I think that M$ could have explorered more the new start nenu. In the same way that "All Programs" shows its contents in the same pane when clicked, all the other itens should behave the same way. Control panel for example could show its categories in the pane instead of opening a window or a new submenu.

Definitly Microsoft should be to redesign the start menu, but they need to think for all the computer users, and i known a lot of people that if the start menu changed a lot they don´t find a link to their programs and surely they´ll have problems for use aa PC (non expert PC user). I Think that the start menu needs to be deleted and create something that the sidebar that replace start menu, and by the way, If a were Microsoft i released diferent versions of windows vista for user experts and for non user experts

Doesn't bother me. I use auto-hide so I hardly ever see it anyways
