Graghics Card Upgrade

Currently I have one 2 year old Leadtek 6600 GT SLI . It has been the weakest component for some time now.
My giftcards are for Bestbuy. These will aford me the BFG 8800 GT which would be awsome however they are out of stock now
So I was wondering if it would be worth considering an ATI card comparable to the 8800 GT if there is one that Bestbuy sells.
I am nolonger familiar with ATI cards.
I'm after bang for the buck.
Considering all that...any opinions?

Since I am limited to BestBuy because of the gift cards,
and BestBuy isn't offering the ATI 3870 or 3850 atleast online
I may have to wait for the 8800 GT to get stocked up again.
I'll have to truck on down to the store in person to see if the store stock is different.
aaahhhh, aaaarrrrggghhhh I hate waiting.
wheres me rum, lad? aarrggh!

Ugh. Also be reading about the cheap stickers on the fan coming off and gumming up the works. What ever happened to pride in workmanship?

too early to tell, though with stock drivers , the leaked info seems to point in favor of this kind of amalgam. i bet gpu construction/design will follow step with recent cpu ideology: more cores are good...
