It also might include the new protection stuff. Aka no piracy atall? Apparently in the next year or so these companies are going to start coding out hardware so the first time a disk gets inserted thats the only machine it will work on. I know we dont know this yet but this could be the beginning of the end of piracy... starting with this new socket :)

I know some people already have plans to buy the most powerfull system and then never upgrade again :P

From what I've read about this disc protection scheme, it was Ken Kuturagi who applied for the patent. He is the head of the Sony Playstation team designing the PS3. So chances are it will be on the PS3 before it hits the PC environment. Either way, I'm staying away from Sony's products.

My motherboard HAS this on an expansion socket on it ha ha but no CPU for the slot as of yet :)

I was courious about the mounting of the heatsink vs the Intel mounting and found this.

Dang!! To bad I won't be able to buy one for another year or two since I just got a opteron 939. Still, it looks pertty cool!!
