M$' Xp before SP1 sucked, but that was there first revolutionary OS in a long time. OF course they are going to have a few problems. I think Vista is going to be a lot better. It doesn't seem that way right now, but I think that they will improve Vista into a OS superior to XP. Either that, or it will be a HUGE FLOP and M$ will fall on there reasr in the computer world. They already are having problems getting there crap together. Linux and MAC are taking over the market a little more everyday.

The Gartner Group is a bunch of idiots, especially if they actually think people will wait two more years for an OS they've been waiting for since 2003. The saddest part is that some IT director who is incapable of thinking for himself will take their word as gold and wait two years, as Microsoft's support for older OSes expires.

if u want to look at a delay like them cutting a Release Candidate out that honestly gives them Beta 2 to work on til Feb and make it feature complete..meaning no RC0 ... which would make it like Xp's testing phase... rc1 and 2

Yeah..i see.

Server, in my opinion, is probably your best bet... Convert it to a workstation and have a go. It's XP and it's not so bloated, I don't know WHY I take to it... I just like the way it handles. It's like driving a car, once you get a feel for a car, and it looks nice, you buy it.... I'm almost to the buying stage :P

As for good ol Paul.... Yeah I won't say it... it's not nice :D I'll just say, he can keep his comments to himself :)

LOL, I guess he's not all he's cracked up to be :fez:

See, He's just a person with and opinion... we're ALL just people with opinions, lets all start a blog on the net and act like we are really intellegent and we know EVERYTHING about ANYTHING and people will mention our names as if they know us too!

p.s. Why do my quotes not show who posted it and what time it was posted? I highlighted the text, click the "Add Selected Text As Quote" button, I also tried the quote button underneath the post and adding a reply O.o

Yes. "NEW DRIVER DOWNLOADS!!!" CRITICAL SECURITY UPDATES, CLICK HERE!!!" Junk. I'm not switching immediately either. I'll wait about two months, maybe, three. I'll let the newbs or windows fanatics get all the bugs out, lol.

The important point is that "companies" shouldn't rush into Vista.

I'm sure lots of personal home users will jump on Vista and with good reason. But if you manage a company, I can guarantee you that you will wait for a long time before switching all of your users' machines to Vista. There are too many unknowns, hardware & software compatibility, potential bugs, etc, etc, etc.
