Ok here is the problem or a scenario i cannot 'fix'.

I have Server 2003 on a Server upstairs, the internet is on a workstation.

How do i share my internet? Roaming profiles will work and all that, but i can't find out how to share the damn internet, if it was installed on my server machine then no problem!!

Till then i won't set it up, i had this problem earlier that made me 'unset' it all.

You know I have recommended this, but spend a little bit of that money you have and buy you a router or a switch LOL. That would make your whole setup easier and more secure being that internet connection sharing is not the best thing in the world.

But Patricia, if i get a router it means i can't share files OVER the internet, ports really wind me up...

V' you have a point, but till the loft is finished the internet is downstairs ;)

Trust me ports are a pain in the ass, I am STILL having problems with mine and I believe I am helpless. Routers work well but not for outsiders ;)

Well..here's how you can set up the server to act as a NAT router...

We have a router setup going through 2 other switches to get everyone in the house on the net. If you really need one machine wide open to the net you should be able to dmz one IP on the subnet through the router.

I am using a linsys router and it is in the options. You will need the address for the pc you wish to open up to the net. In my linksys, there is a page with options for port forwarding and so forth, and one that has the dmz host for one machine in it. Will attach a screen shot. Just enter the address and hit apply in the linksys.
Hope this helps some.
