I have a computer, and older computer, with 512 MB Ram, 350 MHz processor and I want it to run a 200 GB HDD, the problem is it won't recognize ATA/133 harddrives... I need help, please if you have any Ideas, leave em.
P.s. ALL I have is an ATA/133 Hard Drive, I want to make it a server.

AHH, but your wrong KW13.. Never fear, Antique man is here!!
Jay, Get yourself a Promise ATA 133 Card.
Sort of like THIS one
I am using one on a PII 300 512MB ram and a 100GIG HDD - Works great!!
If anyone has questions about older computers, hopefully i can help ya, ive had experience with everything from Overdrive devices to addon cards to speed up those old systems sitting in your closet!
At work, We're still running a Pentium 120 for our job estimating/POS - it works great!

Its not that it doesn't recognise ata 133, your hdd fallbacks to the closest compatible ATA mode, its that your motherboard doesn't support 48bit LBA Addressing, and simply it will never work.
your " BIOS " Has to support 48 bit LBA Addressing to support a hdd that big.

I would prefer just to buy another motherboard that can support more ram and all. But With that means I would probably need a new processor aswell.
