Well i am guessing from the message you tried to insall Windows 98...?
IF you didn't manage to start the install and you have a floppy disk in the drive remove it.

Other than that get the Windows 98 CD-Rom and boot from that.

- You want to Boot with CD Support
- Install Windows 98

SANDRUM - boot with the 98 CD and then format from the command prompt

you will see

A:\>

you type D: then you will see

D:\>

type cd win98 and then type format C:

Now format your harddrive - after thats done type setup or setup.exe from the command prompt.

yeah, set it as a slave, throw it in another box and try to format it and maybe, just MAYBE it'll work, I use to do this to my had drives, they won't last much longer, BUT it'll work for a temp.

THe exact same thing happened to, same error and everything. Your father's brother is correct, mine was the same way and it was busted. EVen when I set it as slave I still got the error when I booted. Once I removed the drive the computer was fine.

Give it a try though, maybe mine was just unlucky. :)
