Windows Vista hasn't been released to the public yet, but it's running on a lot of machines as IT professionals and others beta test the OS in an effort to discover bugs and report them to Microsoft so they can be fixed before the new OS is unleashed later this year. Last week, the first security updates for Vista came out, to address the same Windows Metafile (WMF) vulnerability that affects earlier versions of Windows and received a lot of publicity earlier this month. Well i do think there is a lot of XP still, and Pallidium isn't implemented yet so don't expect loads from it, be kind.

Pallidium is one part of Vista, it will be all about security when its implemented.

Very clever indeed, you know us beta testers really help Microsoft out. How many companies have people testing their software for bugs etc for free?

The real beta crowd amount is much more and bigger!

Think about all the "illegal" downloads!

There are not only the 50.000 - 100.000 MSDN, Betatester, TAP and
other official testers (companies, newspapers and so on).

All other Vista forums and their "hidden" links to Vista downloads
brings another 50.000 testing crew...

Who is testing better: all of MSDN, BETA, TAP or all leachers
who are wanted to test it EXCLUSIVELY and LONG on their machines?

I think those that contribute the most are those people who think that a beta OS is okay to install as their primary OS... they find the real problems :cigar:
