We all hated it at first or at least found it odd.

What are your views on Vista's name now you have had it for a while?

I find it to be a slightly odd name but I like it. Sounds like it is actually something that they could take to production if they want to. I woulda been weary about buying something called Windows Longhorn especially if it didn't come with a Top Sirloin or something. Windows Vista though sounds like something that is marketable and it probably won't make anyone hungry.

You are right - at the beginning it was not easy to live with THAT name: VISTA

But now it is ok and will be more ok every day.

NOW I like the name!

It was strange, but vista means a grand view or something....and with the DWM and stuff, i guess it could fit.

i thought is was an appropriate departure. "longhorn" conjured up visions of a
steakhouse/roadhouse, or "cowpies" :)

hmm I kind of accepted Longhorn, thought it was an odd name for an O but I didn't know about the whole CodeName until I got deep into the community. Then I jsut accepted, and when Vista came about, I was relieved really I was, It was nice to have a name to call it by. It lieks when expecting a child and you find out it's gender and pick a name, it's no longer baby, it's your child :P

and yes, despite the long loading time, it is a nice page :)

it's pretty much you either liked the name vista when it came out, or like I, adjusted to the name...if not yet, you will eventually :)
