driver won't install. and no info on how to either...

so, does anybody know how to do it, or are these guesses? the instructions from nvidia make no sense what so ever, as their "installer" does not run, as they allude to...
Did you type this into a terminal?
su -
yum --enablerepo=livna-testing install kmod-nvidia
The "su" command gives you superuser privileges and then the other command should install the driver.

Actually......the correct command (assuming that you've got livna in your repos.d) should be..........

'yum --enablerepo=livna install kmod-nvidia-kernel' (kernel being what type your running)

Like Scaramonga said, you probably need to set up the repository.

*starts digging in his RHB distro experience memory part*

Sorry, don't have anything so far, but I'm guessing it's a naming problem. Try getting a graphical installation software thingy (probably installed already) and get it through there by adding repositories.

That usually works for beginning users.

Nice screeny, but why oh why does everyone go to Gnome??? :)

Ah well... the KDE/Enlightenment fan talking here. I just like KDE for it's power over gnome.

I do agree gnome is probably more suitable for the beginner, but KDE is so much more intuitive when it comes to power users.

Don't ignore the facts, anybody who wants to say I ain't right. The biggest power-distro around is Gentoo, and 80% of the Gentoo users are on KDE, 4% on Xwidow and 6% on Enlightenment... that leaves 10% for either gnome or something else!

p.s.
Dang, it's -3 Celsius outside atm!

Uh, where did those numbers come from? I would guess 30% KDE, 30% Gnome, 10% Fluxbox, 10% XFCE, 20% Other.

I looked all over the Gentoo forums. I saw about 10 different KDE vs Gnome vs Other polls and came to the conclusion that KDE and Gnome are about equal.
