Activation Problem? Solution...

Disable all nero services at startup. create 2 files, 1 named NeroPatentActivation.txt and one called NBKeyScan.txt . replace these original .exe files by renaming them however you like so you know which ones were the originals. now, place the two created files in the correct places and change the extensions to .exe. Now the software will try to utilize the files but fail because the files are not correct. so far, this has not caused the use of the actual applications any problems and i've not received any problems with my nero key being reported as illegit or of the software not being able to call home.

you're right, this is a great way for a company to watch for pir8s, but at the cost of the privacy of a customer by transmitting their cd-key across the web. a fair programmer could create warez that'd crawl the web for the key's as they're broadcast and pretend to be the parent server marking down scores of legitimate keys and invalidating them by reseeding them to software pirates across the web. i applaud nero on the intention, but the method is wrong and immoral imho. i also added the nbkeyscan path to my -run folder in the registry. users can email me at dragontechnology@hotmail.com if they have ?'s.

:) Warez Means = Stolen Software.. And hackers can't create WareZ, they can leak it.. Like if you Upload Retail Copy, that is not allowed to share, and provide with it Crack and or Serial key, this will be called WareZ.

Btw yes, i got your point, though I was not using 8 version for quite a while, this topic is also quite old, and Now this makes me wonder, why they still haven't fixed their CopyProtection utility, quite Odd, any Noob can just disable it, ;) Nero should fire someone.. he he :)
