Somehow this is exactly why I move everything off my harddisk and format the computer before I send it in to repair (if it still works well enough to do that of course) :christo:

Hmm.. I could go do my own repairs, but as long as my laptop still has guarantee, I prefer the free repair + parts :christo:

good reason for ssd storage: reset the nand, and forget it...

edit: to all ssd users...keep all the early "destructive" FW flashing apps you can. there might be something brewing re data recovery and the .gov...

Interesting MO, Must be the EU starting another ruckus. maybe we should start a collection of FW apps and keep them for downloading later

not the eu, in this case. it could be that a manufacturer has been contacted re data retrieval, and if there is a way to recover...any tools previously existing that could permanently erase the data...

I would say that is a great Idea, I have not heard about what mo is talking about the conspiracy nut in me would not put it past the current gov to make sure data can be recovered.

hey cam, who knows. i would hang on to any "cleaning" app that is available atm though, as soon these options could 'disappear'...
