I've switched my site from my own stats-engine to Google Analytics. But so far, I got the feeling Google ignores about 75% of my visitors, and I can't say I'm happy with that....
what do you think, Google Analytics or my own engine?
They both heavily rely on AJAX, but at least my own is my own
On the other hand, Google's work has way more features and functions....
I'm confused on what to choose (and stupidly already removed the database with stats-data )

You just have to make sure it's not conflicting with any other scripts on your page. When I set it up for this site, I put it in the body of the template. For some reason it didn't work correctly, so I moved it to the head and now it works.
IIRC, one of the browsers didn't like it in the body. I can't remember if it was IE or Firefox.

I know that ppl who use NoScript plugin for firefox won't be registred, but that's no change on my original code.
And for in the head.... everything goes in the head except actual content I'm a pro-C++ coder....
While on Google....
That googlebot visits my site once every 2 weeks.... or less!!!
I've been offline a few days ago, his last crawl was 9th of March!
